The RAD wheel nut bolting series were designed with one job in mind: wheel nut bolting where torque control is a must.
Accidents caused by incorrect tightened wheel nuts are considered a serious problem in the industry. Especially impact wrenches are notorious for these problems, while at the same time they increase the risk of HAVS related injuries.
RAD planetary gear torque wrenches are vibration free and have the accuracy to prevent accidentally under – and over tightening. Wheel bolts are always tightened to the correct torque. The extended drive shaft allows the user to reach deep-set bolts effortlessly. In addition, various types of reaction arms can be placed to set every conceivable application at the right time.
All RAD Pneumatic tools include:

The nose extension kit (-NX)
was designed with flexibility in mind. Complete with 3 different reaction arms and a nose extension for hard-to-reach areas, the GX-NX Kit is a go anywhere tool capable of a variety of applications but especially suitable for off-road construction equipment.
The fixed nose extension (-R)
The RAD -R series torque wrenches are specially designed for the maintenance of commercial vehicles and are standard equipped with a long drive shaft for reaching deep-seated bolts.

Optional: ATEX
The RAD pneumatic torque wrenches have been independently tested and approved by Bureau Veritas. The recommendations and subsequent adjustments have resulted in the classification below, which means that RAD’s ATEX air wrenches can officially be used in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
The classification makes RAD torque wrenches suitable for most applications in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries.
Optional: 4-point reaction arm
For fastening or checking wheel bolts on mining vehicles, it is not always possible to use a standard reaction arm. For some wheel configurations, it is therefore more practical and safer to use the outer ring of the rim as the reaction point. This can be done through the 4-point reaction arm and a custom extension shaft. By using different shaft lengths, this reaction arm is versatile in its application.
The shafts themselves can be directly inserted into the RAD torque wrench after the square drive is removed. This results in a safe and play-free application of the correct torque.
